VATICAN CITY (AP) - Pope Francis has become the first pope to visit a Pentecostal church, pressing his outreach to evangelicals who represent Catholicism's greatest competition for Christian souls around the globe. Pope Francis flew by helicopter Monday to visit the under-construction Pentecostal Church of Reconciliation in the southern city of Caserta. He met privately with a Pentecostal preacher who is an old friend, Giovanni Traettino. Speaking to some 350 Pentecostal faithful in the church, Pope apologized for Catholic persecution of Pentecostals during Italy's fascist regime and stressed that there was unity in diversity within Christianity. He acknowledged the remarkable nature of his visit, saying: "Someone will be surprised: 'The Pope went to visit the evangelicals?' But he went to see his brothers." Pope Francis has met unofficially with several Pentecostal and evangelical preachers recently. -Courtesy Associated Press Vatican City Pope Francis talks with Evangelical Christian Pastor Giovanni Traettino during a private visit to the Evangelical Church of Reconciliation in Caserta, Southern Italy, on July 28, 2013 For more on Pope and Prolife CLICK HERE ...

Pedophile Priests, Sex abuse and Mafia--Catholic Church will not tolerate, says Pope Francis. More excommunications soon.-14-Jul-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/80032128.jpg)
Over 400 priests were defrocked by Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI , during his term, for their involvement in child sex abuse which was the first largest excommunication series in the history of Catholic church. The same legacy has been followed by Pope Francis who came out strongly against "evil-priests" last week. He dared taking actions against Bishops and Cardinals who tried to cover up the child sex abuse cases and admonished by demoting many of them. In a recent conversation with the founder of the Italian daily ‘La Repubblica’, Eugenio Scalfari, Pope Francis touched upon a series of issues including pedophilia in the church, the mafia, the education of young people and knowledge. Last month Pope Francis excommunicated the Italian mafia groups while delivering a speech in the town controlled by a mafia group. He showed the courage to expel the mafia by proclaiming his decision in their own land of operation. It was the strongest condemnation of organized crime groups by a pontiff in two decades, accusing them of practicing "the adoration of evil" and saying that "mafiosi" were excommunicated, and they did not belong to Catholic Church. Pope's words are equivalent to canonical process of excommunication, which is often a long process. During his recent conversation with journalist Scalfari , Pope Francis admitted that 2% of Catholic priests are pedophiles, which was a secret Vatican never ...

Student-Led Prayers in Public Schools Permitted--North Carolina Governor Signs Bill into Law:-02-Jul-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/5240013.jpg)
North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory, a Republican, has signed legislation that will explicitly allow students in public schools across the state to engage in voluntary student-led prayer. The new law permits students to create religious clubs and coordinate prayer groups. The three-page law also allows students to pray by themselves or in groups — aloud or silently — in exactly the same way they can discuss or think silently about any other issue. Additionally, students will be able to communicate their religious beliefs in written assignments and artwork under the new law without fear of censorship from teachers or school officials. The legislation does set limits on prayer and God talk at taxpayer-funded schools. Religious students won’t be able to interrupt other students who are trying to learn, for example. They also can’t harass nonreligious students. The law, which takes effect immediately. The bill sailed through North Carolina’s House and Senate chambers with overwhelming support. In the Senate, the vote was 48-1. In the lower chamber, it was 106-9. Advocates for religious freedom are happy with the outcome. They are also calling for laws allowing voluntary student-led prayer across the country. “The North Carolina bill is the kind of legislation that is needed in every state,” said Bill Donohue, who heads the Catholic League, in a press release. “To that end, we are cont...

Chris Christie , the First Pro-life Governor of New Jersey. Indian American Governors too.-02-Jul-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/77011456.jpg)
New Jersey’s first pro-life governor since Roe v. Wade (1973 Supreme Court law that legalized abortion) has a message for the Republican Party: Social issues don’t have to bog us down. “I’m pro-life and it didn’t bog me down!” Gov. Chris Christie declared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box”, while describing how Republicans can get ahead in 2016 – i.e., by being more like him. Almost all Republican Governors are Pro-Life. Most of them came out strongly to be called as Pro-life Governors. Governor Bobby Jindal of Lousiana (an Indian American), Governor Rick Perry of Texas, Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico (she was a Democrat before, but became Republican since she did'nt want to compromise her religious principles by being a Democrat), Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina (an Indian American), Governor Mary Fallin of Oklohama, Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona -----------thus goes the list of 31 Republican governors currently in power in the United States who strongly support religious freedom and family values. The Hobby Lobby verdict by the Supreme Court on July 1, 2014 was a reaffirmation of religious freedom in the United States, though it is often misinterpreted as a women's right issue by the Democrats and Pro-abortionists. “If you’re pro-life, you need to be pro-life for the whole life not just while they’re in the womb. Sometimes … it’s m...

Obama gets another blow. Christians and Catholics win against Contraception Mandate in Supreme Court:-01-Jul-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/82453325.jpg)
Yesterday was a joyful and thanks-giving day for millions of " faithful Christians" in the U.S. As soon as the Supreme Court decision was announced thousands of Prolife activists, especially young men and women shouted slogans against Obama and his mandatory "contraception and abortion assistance" in Obamacare. The Supreme Court re-affirmed that the importance of Religious Freedom and Religious Liberty in the United States cannot be compromised. The Supreme Court ruled, yesterday (June 30,2014), that the Christian-run Hobby Lobby doesn’t have to obey the HHS mandate that is a part of Obamacare that requires businesses to pay for abortion or abortion- causing drugs in their employee health care plans. Hobby Lobby is a craft supplies store chain owned by Christians, and is a for-profit business organization. They own stores in 41 States and employ more than1600 workers. The U.S. Supreme Court verdict issued yesterday was a favorable ruling in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. , a landmark case addressing the Constitutionally Guaranteed Rights of business owners to operate their family companies without violating their deeply held religious principles. Sebelius is the former HHS Secretary who resigned recently due to the failures in Obamacare website. The Obama administration was attempting to make Hobby Lobby and thousands of pro-life businesses and organizations comply with the HHS mandate that compels religious compan...

Catholics in the U.S start Fortnight for Freedom against threats to Religious Liberty: Read more----22-Jun-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/99002486.jpg)
"Stand for our freedom to serve the poor and the vulnerable" is the message from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to show protest against the Obama Government's anti-Christian laws and mandates. Catholics in America will follow 2 weeks of Prayer, Education and Action from June 21 to July 4 to protect religious freedom and liberty. According to Pew Research America has the highest government restrictions on religious freedom (3.7/10) than the world median (2.4/10), though Syria, China and Egypt have the worst (8/10). Pope Benedict XVI spoke in 2012 about his worry that religious liberty in the United States was being weakened. He called religious liberty the “most cherished of American freedoms.” Unfortunately, our most cherished freedom is under threat. Pope Benedict XVI recognized that various attempts to limit the freedom of religion in the U.S. are particularly concerning. The threat to religious freedom is larger than any single case or issue and has its roots in secularism in our culture. The Holy Father had then, asked for the laity to have courage to counter secularism that would “delegitimize the Church’s participation in public debate about the issues which are determining the future of American society.” The Fact Sheet published by the USCCB highlights 6 issues that threaten religious freedom- 1.HHS mandate for sterilization, contraception, and abortion-inducing ...

Florida Governor (Republican) signs legislation to ban abortion:-13-Jun-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/23938739.jpg)
Florida Governor Rick Scott signed a legislation today (June13,2014) barring late-term abortions. The law will take effect next month. The new law restricts abortion in cases where doctors determine an unborn child could survive outside the womb. This will restrict unnecessary abortions promoted by Obamacare and Obama's Planned Parenthood Policy. The Republicans, who are pro-life and support value to human lives right from the womb, are pushing for limits on abortions in all states ruled by Republican governors. Texas Governor Rick Perry (Republican) also signed laws recently to restrict abortions. Texas also took steps to limit tax payer money to fund abortions through Obama's so-called "Planned Parenthood Abortion Mills". Existing Florida law forbids abortion after 24 weeks' gestation, unless a woman's life or health is jeopardized by continued pregnancy. The new law signed today sets the "no-abortion point" at any stage of development when a doctor determines the fetus is viable. A viable fetus cannot be killed at any stage of development. Once fetal viability is attained, no abortion would be allowed under the new law unless two doctors certify in writing that termination is necessary to save the patient's life or to "avert a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function ... other than a psychological condition" the Reuters reported today. Nun Sister Becomes an Internet Sensation--Praises God and Pope Francis:-06-Jun-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/35920353.jpg)
A young nun, 25 years old, became an internet sensation after winning Italy's famous TV talent contest called The Voice of Italy. Sister Suor Cristina performed her rendition singing to the tune of Alicia Key's ballad "No One", wearing her official dress 'habit' , head scarf 'wimple' and the crucifix around her neck. She received 50 million hits on YouTube and became an internet sensation since March 2014 when she first sang the tune in another show. But Suor Cristina still defined herself as a "humble servant" and ascribed her sudden success to a "thirst for joy, for love, and a message that is beautiful and pure". She believes her song expresses "the beauty of God". "My presence here is not up to me, it's thanks to the man upstairs!" she said after being declared the show's winner. "I'm not here to start a career but because I want to impart a message." Sister Cristina said that she was following Pope Francis's calls for a Catholic Church that is closer to ordinary people and following the bible of joy. She then recited the Lord's Prayer "Our Father in Heaven" on stage. Suor Cristina added, she was once distant from religion but was inspired to be a nun when she auditioned for a part in a musical about the founder of the Ursuline Order, Saint Angela Merici. She became a novice in 2009 and worked for two years with poor childr...

University Fires Physician-Scientist for testifying Homosexuality is bad for Public Health:-28-May-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/3399516.jpg)
Dr.Jojy Vengassery A world-famous AIDS expert, Dr.Brendan Bain MD, was FIRED from his professorship at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica after testifying in court that homosexual behavior is a threat to public health. The professor was dismissed last Tuesday after over 30 homosexual activist groups called for his removal because of the testimony he provided in court back in 2010 in defense of Sodomy Ban in Belize. Belize is a country on the northeastern coast of Central America. “As a physician and Public Health practitioner, one of my responsibilities is to assess behaviors for their health and well being,” Bain wrote at the time. “When something is beneficial, such as exercise, good nutrition, or adequate sleep, it is my duty to recommend it. Likewise, when something is harmful, such as smoking, overeating, alcohol, or drug abuse, and unsafe sexual behavior, it is my duty to discourage it.” “Another of my responsibilities as a Public Health practitioner is to assess the cost of behavior, not just to the individual ‘actor,’ but also to the community,” Bain wrote. “There are instances in which private behaviors result in considerable public cost due to illness, with accompanying loss of productivity and social disruption and the prospect of premature death.” The professor added that "some behaviors of Gay people could lead to possible premature death ... and one...

Federal Court Says Obama Admin Can't Force Contraception Mandate on Christian Colleges:-21-May-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/13015681.jpg)
A federal court issued an order today (May 21,2014) that halts enforcement of the Obama administration’s HHS mandate against two Christian colleges: Dordt College in Iowa and Cornerstone University in Michigan. The lawsuit, Dordt College v. Sebelius, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, Western Division, argued that the mandate violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act as well as the First and Fifth amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Based on the order these two colleges will be exempted from following Obama- mandate for contraceptive pills, abortion pills and procedures like sterilization. The Attorneys for the colleges challenged the administration’s mandate that forces employers, regardless of their religious or moral convictions and under threat of heavy penalties, to provide insurance coverage for pills and procedures that many Christians oppose. The two colleges object to the government’s conclusion that they are not sufficiently religious to qualify for the extremely narrow religious exemption from the mandate. The arguments made by the attorneys representing the colleges were strong enough to protect the religious freedom and Christian faith. The attorneys belong to the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) which is an alliance-building legal ministry that advocates for the right of people to freely live out their faith. ADF fights for religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and family. "C...

Staff who assisted Killer-Gynecologist sentenced to Prison:-19-May-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/35856249.jpg)
While America is recovering from the abortion- horrors of Killer-Gynecologist Kermit Gosnell, a Federal Court in Philadelphia sentenced his assistant Lynda Williams to 2 1/2 years in prison for her role in running the abortion clinic. Kermit Gosnell is in prison serving 3 life sentences for killing live babies he aborted. Gosnell also ran an illegal pill-selling scheme at his abortion clinic in which some of his staff, including Lynda Williams, were involved. Lynda Williams, 45 , was a front-desk night worker who did multitasking for Gosnell, like collecting money, accepting tips for pain killers, and piercing scissors into the back of babies' neck to snip spinal cords. While testifying before jury in the court she said that "the babies jumped" when she snipped their necks, and she did only what she was told to do by the doctor. Williams testified earlier that she had only studied until eighth grade in school and never graduated. Before working for Gosnell at his Women’s Medical Society Clinic in West Philadelphia, Williams had worked for 10 years at the now-closed Atlantic Women’s Medical Services abortion clinic in Wilmington, where Gosnell worked part-time. She even gave anesthesia to patients and pleaded guilty for one woman's death. Williams said she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2007 after her husband was killed and left her job at Atlantic clinic, where she sterilized instruments. A few months lat...

Miracle Credited to Pope Paul VI Approved. Beatification Set for October 19-12-May-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/20824193.jpg)
Pope Francis has approved the miracle credited to Pope Paul VI and will beatify him as "the Blessed of the Church" at a ceremony on October 19, 2014. The Vatican press release stated last week. Pope Paul VI is known as a stalwart who did much to modernize the Roman Catholic Church but pronounced a ban on artificial contraception and abortion. It is no surprise that the miracle attributed to Pope Paul is related to protecting a child from getting killed by abortion. The beatification ceremony would come at the end of the special meeting of bishops called at the Vatican in October 2014 to discuss family life. The scientifically verified miracle, that happened in 2001, is concerned to a pregnant woman in California whose unborn child was found to be at high risk of dying in the womb or being born with severe birth defects. Doctors advised the woman to undergo an abortion, but, at the advice of a nun, she prayed to the late Pope Paul VI. Despite the diagnoses of the rupture of the fetal bladder and absence of amniotic liquid, the woman decided to continue her pregnancy, against medical advice, by praying to Pope Paul for intercession. Evidence includes scan reports, lab reports and clinical findings unanimously verified and agreed upon by doctors in the US and around the world. The boy child, now an adolescent, was born without any problems. The Vatican medical committee assigned to study the miracle finally ruled that the healing was medically ...

Former Abortion Clinic Director Reads Letter to Aborted Baby-I'm Sorry---25-Apr-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/392706.jpg)
More Americans are turning Pro-life each day. Obama's Planned Parenthood clinics (the so-called abortion mills) are struggling to survive, especially in states ruled by Republican Governors, who are mostly pro-life. Horrifying crimes of Abortion-Gynecologist Kermit Gosnell touched the hearts of many young Americans, and the Prolife Rally 2014 in Washington had record number of youngsters who dared coming forward to show their support against abortion. In a powerful and moving new video, Abby Johnson, the former director of a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Southeast Texas reads a letter to an aborted baby she watched die in an abortion. Since converting to the pro-life perspective and getting out of the abortion industry, Abby has led a new organization called "And Then There Were None", designed to assist other abortion facility workers to quit their jobs; and provide them the spiritual support, job placement, and other resources they need to leave their current places of employment. In this powerful new video released by Life News, Abby talks about her spiritual journey to find healing, grace and forgiveness from God, after working in a position where she oversaw the destruction of so many human lives. The letter is a powerful testimony of grace and mercy, and seeking forgiveness. “I’m stricken with sorry,” Abby says. “I’m sorry I didn’t defend you and I’m sorry I stood there and watched you d...

One more Miracle credited to Pope John Paul II:Amazing Grace-23-Apr-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/30175771.jpg)
By Javier Cordoba The Associated Press On a warm spring day, Floribeth Mora was in her bed waiting to die from a seemingly inoperable brain aneurysm when her gaze fell upon a photograph of Pope John Paul II in a newspaper. "Stand up," Mora recalls the image of the pope saying to her. "Don't be afraid." Mora, her doctors and the Catholic Church say her aneurysm disappeared that day in a miracle that cleared the way for the late pope to be declared a saint on April 27 in a ceremony at the Vatican where Mora will be a guest of honor. For Mora, the church-certified miracle was only the start of her metamorphosis from an ill and desperate woman into an adored symbol of faith for thousands of Costa Ricans and Catholics around the world. Mora, 50, has been greeting a stream of local and international visitors in her modest home in a middle-class neighborhood outside the Costa Rican capital, and accepts invitations to as many as four Masses a day. The faithful have given her so many letters to deliver to current pontiff Pope Francis that she has had to buy an extra suitcase. Mora has suspended her late-in-life law studies and much of her work for her family security business to dedicate herself full-time to her role as a symbol of faith for many in Costa Rica. "With all of this going on I appreciate having my own business, because if I had a boss, they would have already fired me for missing so much work," she joked. She says she ignores skepti...

Pope Throws Away Tradition-Washes Feet of Disabled Children, Women and Non-Catholics:-18-Apr-2014
![Picture](/admin/pope_folder/95064180.jpg)
Washing the feet of others was a hated and radical act during the time of Jesus. But Jesus did it to his disciples to prove that He came to serve, and not to be served. Last year Holy Father broke the papal tradition of washing the feet of priests, instead, selected prisoners which included Muslim women. This year Pope Francis performed the ritual Washing -of - Feet at the Don Gnocchi Center for the disabled people, located in the suburb of Rome. He washed the feet of 12 elderly and disabled people that including children, women and non-Catholics. The ages of the "chosen-12" ranged from a 16 year old boy to an 86 year old woman. The chosen people were: a 16-year-old boy from Cape Verde who was paralyzed in a diving accident last year, a 19-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman diagnosed with cerebral palsy, two 86-year-olds with mobility problems and seven other men with physical and mental disabilities. The 78-year-old Pope Francis smiled at each of the Twelve whose feet he washed, but clearly struggled to get up from his knees as he moved down the line. He appeared tired towards the end of the short ceremony and two assistants helped him to get up back on his feet. This is nothing new to Pope Francis: Washing the feet of the poor and the rejected is not new to Pope Francis. In 2001, he washed and kissed the feet of 12 AIDS patients at a hospice in Buenos Aires, the capital of ...

His Holiness Pope Francis will wash the feet of 12 young disabled residents in a rehabilitation center for developmentally -disabled people. The center called the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation is situated in the north-west suburbs of Rome. The Foundation offers cutting-edge therapies like motor rehabilitation to patients suffering neurodegenerative diseases. On Holy Thursday, at 5.30 pm, Pope Francis will celebrate the “In Coena Domini Mass" (meaning 'at the table of Lord', referring to the feast of the Lord's Supper) at the St Mary of Providence chapel of the Don Gnocchi Foundation. The Holy Mass will be attended by a limited group of people that includes residents, along with their families and staff of the Foundation.
