Women's Ordination
by The Rev. Dr. John T. Mathew, Mississauga, ON Canada on 2011-08-05 09:15:28 am
This is blether at best to claim that man was created first! If God planned everything before the foundation of the world, the creation of woman happened at the very moment when man was created! Read the creation story - which one? In fact, the Book of Genesis has TWO creation stories! Woman was NOT created to "poojika" man!! That's from a silly Tamil movie with no religious significance - perhaps foolish cultural overtones. We have been ordaining theologically trained women since 1938! Hopefully other Christian denominations will follow our example.
“God’s own country turning devilish?”
by The Rev. Dr. John T. Mathew, Mississauga, ON Canada on 2011-08-05 09:01:48 am
It was helpful to read your well-researched article, “God’s own country turning devilish?” by James Kottoor on the social malaise of Kerala. “God’s Own Country” is a hideous moniker to describe Kerala or any place on this planet. At best, such a smug, self-congratulatory designation is nauseating. I recall an incident when the Rev. Jim Hutton, my good friend and colleague, a priest from a Roman Catholic parish next door dropped by to see me one day and inquired what the map (of Kerala) behind my desk in my office was all about. He didn’t appear all that overwhelmed when I quipped, “It is the Holy Land!”. Animated to locate places like Bethlehem, Jerusalem or Nazareth on the map, he got up and scowled, “What place is this?”. I explained to him that Kerala was holy land for me. In fact, I worked in a Kibbutz and although the places I mentioned are very dear to my faith, Israel was no holier than any place elsewhere.
In other words, when we elevate our home state way upon a pedestal, as we often do with our icons and idols with feet of clay, the fall from stellar abode to diabolical abyss can be devastating.
Now, regarding the issues highlighted in your article, it would be impossible to see any light at the end of the tunnel until social issues such as poverty, unemployment, healthcare etc. are improved.
Isn’t it ironic to have up to date automobiles on our deplorable bumpy roads!. Similarly, Kerala boasts the highest alcoholic consumption in India with inadequate housing, poor infrastructure, healthcare etc.! Leaders of all sorts condemn alcoholism from platforms and pulpits; well, people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. No one person has all the answers but together, we might be able to accomplish positive results. As one who was called to bury too many addicts – both young and old, both women and men - I do not want to pretend to play the role of an armchair philosopher in this crisis. We have a long way to go yet towards a civil, prosperous society.

women's ordination
by c.andrews, usa on 2011-01-15 08:39:00 am
Genesis is not history, It is the product of imagination. the creation of Adam as the first man is also a fabrication, why: the bible is written by males who held male superiority. also see Gen.5:1-2- Adam is a common name given to human race,- god made them in the likeness of him = man and woman. Christian churches had women priests in the beginning, but they were eliminated as male supremacy dominated, you can see that in the Gospel of Mary &Thomas. In Kerala until 1500, priests were married men and women were held in high esteem. But Portuguese changed all that by force. Some of the popes were married men. lot of women accompanied Jesus and supported him financially. All male disciples fled when he was crucified, but women stood by him. Yes we must ordain women even though it is late. it is ok to admit our mistake.

Soul Drops: New Year Resolutions
Hello and Dear Elsy Mathew,
Happy New Year full of the Lord's unfathomable love and concern for you and every one of your dear ones. What is more congrats for the thoughtful thouhts you have shared in your Soul Drops in Joychen's website.
"Love is not loving a perfect person but loving an imperfect person perfectly. If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive." May they fall on fertile soil to take root and produce a hundred fold. Man goes only where his mind goes and writings like this help a great deal to nurture good will and right convictions in receptive minds, especially in this internet age when we can connect with anyone, anywhere, anytime, anyhow instantly. That is what prompts me also to do some scribling to contribute my share in sowing the good seed, to help shape better minds for a better world.
I don't know you except through your writing. I am from Ernakulam, now in Chicago on a short visit. More information is in: https://sites.google.com/site/jameskottoorspeaking/ Bristle up to face the bright and brittle challenges the new year throws up, because life, made up of days and nights, light and darkness, can never be a bed of roses alone. I slept and dreamt that life is beauty, I woke up and found life is duty, wrote a poet. Better light a candle than curse the darkness. So a beautiful and dutyful new year to you,

Who is Jesus for you
by Thomas Koovalloor, New York on 2010-12-21 11:27:26 am
Who is Jesus for You?
Dear Sir,
I read your article about " Who is Jesus for you?". At this time of the the century it is an important subject. In my opinion Jesus was a reformer and he wanted to transform the people. He just taught one prayer and that was " Our Father..." After his resurrection he asked his disciple Peter one question three times " Do you feed my sheep, do you feed my sheep, do you feed my sheep", and Peter said Yes.
I think Peter did not clearly understood what jesus was asking to him. If he understood what Jesus was asking him there will be no poverty in this world because it was the followers of Peter who were ruling the majority of the population in this planet.
This is my opinion.Any way, thank you for giving me a chance to think about Jesus.May God Bless you and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year.
Sincerely,
Thomas Koovalloor, New York

Is Gender a Barrier to Priesthood?
by Joseph , Kerala on 2010-11-18 20:06:17 pm
Is Gender a Barrier to Priesthood?
“Women's Ordination: Crime?” by Dr James Kottoor (IC 2-8 August 2010) was an inspiring and thought provoking article. We appreciate and admire Dr Kottoor for daring to speak on women's ordination in spite of the threat of excommunication imposed by the church on anyone who dared to speak on it. He still had the courage to stand for justice and equality like Jesus who was a revolutionary of his time.
When equality of women is respected in many spheres of life why is priesthood still denied to women in the Catholic Church? Can denial of priesthood be looked as denial of human right?

Gender Difference is a Scientific Reality - We Will Suffer If Go Against the Natural Difference
by Dr. Shaji V. Kudiyat, India and Philippines on 2010-12-08 07:11:27 am
Gender difference is a scientific reality. If we try to go against nature we will only suffer. This is my realisation after 15 years of cancer research. I am introducing a new science called "Dynamic Science" which scientifcally explains how mind, vital force (soul) and DNA (which carries the genetic information, including for the physical make up)are interconnected. Men and women are genetically deffers from different set of basic chromosomes itself which we call XY and XX chromosomes. These two different types of chromosomes are manifested in the physical plane and physiological plane differently. The physical difference is very evident from the difference in the difference of physical structure and sex organs. In the physiological plane the male and female differences are manifested in the form different sex hormones. They are oestregen and progesteron in females and testosteron in males. The two different female sex hormone concentrations vary in females according the alternate appearence of ovulation and menstruation. These variations in hormone comcentrations are actually the reason for the alternate appearance of the same. This also affects the females and make them more enotionally vulnerable with changeability of emotions and moods. These two female hormones also make the body of female soft, smooth, flexible and tender, which also can be termed as feminity and beauty of a female. For the fulfillment of the basic missions and purposes of womanhood, like pregnancy and childbirth, these feminine characterestics are necessary for the expansion of abdomen and for dialatation of the cevix of uterus and vagina during labor. Where as male sex hormone is only one and so the changeability will not be there producing a more stable mind and the male sex hormone makes the body of a man physically firm and strong. This stability of mind and physical strength are two important reasons for the men becoming natural leader from time immomorial. When we make a woman - a leader, who naturally has to remain and maintain her feminity, she may become abnormal. This is due to the fact that leadership is a tough job and when women become leader, they tend to become tough, which transform them as abnormal. This also came out in my cancer research which explains why more and more women are developing breast, uterine and ovarian cancers and tumors. Breast, urerus and ovaries are female specific organs, which can survive healthily only in a feminine environment. When a woman become mentally tough, the female specific organs manifest the toughness in form of tumors and when the woman live longer with toughness, there will be development and maintenance of a negative mental state which will transform the tumor to a malignant tumor. This can easily understood by examining the personality of any woman with breast, uterus or ovarian cancers. So empowering women is not at all a scientifically right thing. It will only make women suffer more. But this scientific aspect is not understood or discussed in the present day scientific community since their focus is only on the physical plane and they ignores the mental and spiritual planes. Also 99% of the researches taking place today are directed towards finding a product in the name of medicine which the funding aurhorities or others can sell in the market and make more money out of it. Today many congregations of nuns are free to decide for themselves, where as they were under the bishop or priests before, and now we can see many nuns develop breast, uterine and ovarian cancers. I believe Dr. James Kottoor is not aware of these scientific facts and just saying someting possibly inspired by the propaganda made by the women empowerment strtegiest people whose mission is to exploit women. I hope and believe that Dr. Kottor will consider these natural and scientific aspects and soon will come out with rectification of the previous opinion or will modify it accordingly. male domination
by c.andrews, Mathew 1:23 is a wrong translation when Hebrew was translated to Greek. the writer of gospel of Mathew used the wrong translation too.Isaiah 7:14 ...l on 2010-12-25 14:47:35 pm
Philosophy, religion, social ethics all are dominated by man.all products of man emphasize the same. your hormone theory is not a fact, but a product of ages of humiliation imposed on women.human society in the beginning was matriarchal; but pregnancy was always her weakness.male exploited her weakness and created the present male dominated society.A major blame has to be attributed to the Old Testament written by testosterone driven male priests. New Testament writers simply imitated them.

Please don't answer like this with out understanding the basic biological and scientific facts. Thank you for reading it. Just keep on observing what is mentioned above and conclude later. It is not written with any hidden agenda or wrong motivation, but with an open mind and truthful expression of scientific analysis and observation. I thought of doing it since the material philosophy based science is not looking into such facts. Hope many scientifically agree with it.
Gender-Scientific difference

Dr.Shaji,
Please give some examples of the tumors/malignancy incidents happened to the world womenleaders for clarity of your findings.
Please read the following answer:
by Dr. Shaji V. Kudiyat, India on 2011-03-19 21:01:54 pm
Dear Thomas K. Varghese, Thank you for the question. To answer this we need to know the medical history of the women leaders, which are not available as of now. But some general observations I can share with you. Take the case of Mrs. Vrinda Karat, she never give birth to any child and is one of the main leaders of CPIM in India. My observations are made through the analysis of patients who came to me. Development of benign tumors in female specific organs are expressions of the loss of feminine mental characteristics. The benign tumor become malignant tumor or cancer when negative emotions like anger, hatred, enimity, etc. are developed and maintained. In political leaders who are women, if they succeed as leaders, loss of feminity may happen which will be expressed as benign tumors, but malignancy may not develop as they may be able to succeed in leadership. But the benign tumor development prevent them from fulfiling their basic missions as women. For example, if a woman develop a myoma, which is a benign tumor in the uterus, it will prevent the lady from becoming pregnant, incapacitating her from fulfilling one of her basic missions as a woman. This is similar to the situation of placing a lupe or copper-T in uterus to prevent pregnancy as part of artificail family planning. So please make your own study with dominant and tough women known to you and make your own conclusions. I honestly stated my observations made during my cancer research as a homeopathic researcher, who treats patients holistically.
