heavy heart and deep sorrow that I would like to inform Rev. Fr. Daniel George, St. Gregorios Orthodox Cathedral, Bellwood, passed away just hours ago. He is survived by his loving family members and devoted congregation. Daniel Achen has been with the St. Gregorios Orthodox congregation for the past 25 years. Daniel Achen was a monumental figure in our community by touching the lives of so many patrons and played vital roles in the Ecumenical Council. I would like to emphasize the colossal void that has been created by the loss of Daniel Achen. Achen was a huge inspiration and foundation to our Ecumenical council and the growth of the religious programs spanning our communities. Achen’s work and prayers have expedited the growth of Chicago Ecumenical Council to greater levels.
