Myself and Fr. Bijesh Philip belong to the same parish (Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church, Njaliakuzhy). Achan was shifted to Amrita Hospital, Kochi yesterday, as per Bava Thirumeni’s instructions. We are all constantly monitoring his progress.
Fr. Bijesh was admitted to Paret Mar Ivanios Hospital, Puthupally owing to high fever a week ago. As fever didn’t come down, they suspected ‘dengue’, especially because he developed swellings and rashes on his face, hands and feet. So Fr. Bijesh was shifted to Caritas Hospital, Kottayam. Bava Thirumeni visited Achen there and talked to Dr. George Jacob, Head of the Dept. of Cardiology at length. Yesterday(Tuesday, 25th June), Bava Thirumeni suggested that it would be better if he was shifted to a hospital in Kochi like Amrita or Lakeshore. Immediately thereafter, I talked to Dr. George Jacob and Dr. Appu thomas(Professor of Urology at Amrita), who are both related to me and made arrangements for shifting Achen to Amrita.
Amrita Hospital sent an ambulance with all facilities and on Tuseday night, Achen was shifted from Caritas to Amrita. Now he is in the Intensive Care Unit there. Two brothers from Njaliakuzhy Dayara (Binson and Rittu) are waiting outside the ICU round the clock.
On Wednesday, 26th June 26th  at about 6:30 pm, Fr. Dr. P.C. Thomas and Sri P.C. Abraham, elder brother of Bijesh Achen’s father, went inside the ICU. Achen talked to them at length. He requested that as far as possible, visits to the hospital may be avoided as the hospital people are strict about discouraging visitors. Doctors have informed me that Achen’s condition is steadily improving. They are awaiting some lab reports. The swellings on the hands and feet are also subsiding. As Achen has begun taking in fluids, general metabolic functions are slowly returning to normal. He is responding to antibiotics very well.
So I request all of you to continue your prayers. Bava Thirumeni is personally monitoring Achen’s progress every few hours. The Hospital is well equipped and they can manage Achen’s health very well. God Almighty surely wants Achen to carry on his selfless, committed work and Achen will be safe in the hands of God. Let us all pray Lord Jesus to restore Achen’s health as early as possible.
