Lady Doctor at Montefiore Bronx NY Arrested. Her Arrogance and Ego of being a Doctor put her in hand cuffs.
Lady Doctor at Montefiore Bronx NY Arrested. Her Arrogance and Ego of being a Doctor put her in hand cuffs.

A cancer surgeon at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York, was busted for ramming a cop in the leg with her car as she tried to avoid getting a double-parking ticket in Midtown on Thursday, police said.

Two cops were issuing the ticket at around 11 a.m. when Dr. Rachel Wellner, 40, a breast cancer specialist at Montefiore Medical Center, hit the gas and struck an officer in the shin, sources said.

Another police unit stopped her on West 53rd Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues, and she was arrested in her green scrubs.

“I am a doctor. I have patients who are dying. I’m the hero; the cops are not!” Dr. Rachel Wellner, 40, told police when she was arrested for striking an officer’s leg with her Volvo on Thursday to avoid a parking ticket, prosecutors said at her arraignment.

The injured cop was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Police sources said Wellner — who was released without bail on charges including resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident — was “a hot mess” when she was busted.

“She was saying, ‘I don’t have time for this. I have to get to the hospital,’ ” the police source said.

“Officers were trying to reason with her about the summonses, but she wasn’t having the reasoning. So she jumped in her car as the officer was trying to cuff her, and she sped off hitting the officer.” Another police officer said.

Video obtained by the police shows her speed off and the cop’s ticket book go flying. Police chased and arrested her.

After she was arrested in her green scrubs, Wellner burst into tears and threw a fit about being handcuffed, punctuating her griping with medical jargon, the police source said.

“She started complaining that they were too tight. She wanted to sound smart, like she was above us all, and she made some comment that ‘It’s hurting the such-and-such nerve in my hand,’ ” the source said.

Rachael Wellner was charged with resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

She tearfully defended herself Thursday night telling more lies.

“I double-parked the car and got a ticket,” she told The New York Post reporter , adding that she drove off because cops “used force” on her.

“I was beaten up,” Wellner said adding more lies. But Wellner’s biggest concern was the possible damage to her reputation.

“If you put my name out there, I will lose my job as a surgeon,” she pleaded.

“I don’t accept a summons. The police assaulted me,” she allegedly said.

On her website, she describes herself as “dedicated to combining compassionate, high-quality care.”

With her ‘god complex’  she boasted that her job saving lives made her far superior to the lowly NYPD officers who hauled her away in cuffs for hitting a cop with her car in Midtown, prosecutors said Friday.

On Friday, Wellner appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court, teary-eyed and wearing wrinkled brown slacks and a black blazer.

Wellner and her attorney, Alan Futerfas, declined to comment outside the courthouse.

Witnesses said her claims of police brutality were fabricated. Rachel, who received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth in 1997, begged to reporters on Thursday to withhold her name for fear she would lose her job.

Montefiore officials also declined to comment.
