More Christian Universities Dropping Insurance Coverage for Contraception & Abortion:

While Catholic Church's fight against the' evil mandates' of Obamacare to cover contraception and abortion continues , more Christian churches are joining hands with Catholic Church to protect religious freedom and sexual morality.
Layola Marymount University(LMU), a Catholic Jesuit University, in California  issued a statement this week saying it has dropped the employee insurance coverage of abortion but retain its coverage of contraceptives, following protests from a faithful Catholic professor.
LMU philosophy professor Dr.James Hanink, took the initiative to protest against the University's  insurance coverage for both contraceptives and abortion. Finally the University heeded to live up to its catholic identity, but fell short of withdrawing contraception.
Biola University, an evangelical Christian institution in California, also issued a statement that it would not cover abortion and contraception in its employee insurance plan, adding to the evidence that LMU may have had options for avoiding abortion and contraceptive coverage.
California was the first state which mandated contraception coverage in 1994. At that time Thomas Aquinas College (a Catholic University) in California raised its protest and rejected the mandate. In order to avoid facilitating such coverage for its employees, Thomas Aquinas College became a member of the Reta Trust, ‘a self-funded benefit trust’ whose plans "only provide benefits that are in compliance with the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services published by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops.” Because the College self-insures through the Reta Trust, it is exempt from the State of California's regulation requiring coverage of contraceptive services. Now Thomas Aquinas College does not cover contraception and abortion in its employee health coverage.
But LMU still argues in its statement that California forces the Jesuit university to cover contraceptives, despite the experience of Thomas Aquinas College with a self-insured plan.
