Bengaluru: The Students Ministry under Bengaluru Diocese received a major boost with the successful hosting of a one-day conference titled the Pravaasi Students Conference called ‘Manna 2013′ on January 26, Saturday, at St George College at Banasawadi, OMBR Layout, in Bengaluru.
Over 350 students from various colleges attended the conference. Rev Fr Cyril Varghese Vadakadathu inaugurated the conference by lighting the traditional lamp. On behalf of the students, Ms Ansu Joseph, delivered a welcome note at conference.
Rev Fr Cyril Varghese read out the conference message from Bengaluru Diocese Metropolitan HG Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim on the occasion.  The Metropolitan has praised the progress of the ministry and the work done by Student Chaplain under Rev Fr Cyril towards mobilising the students.
Dr Fred Felix, Principal of St George College, wished the conference deliberations all success. Members of the Senior Friends Group in Students Ministry like Paul Arieckal, Johny K Joseph and Raju Philip, participated by taking interesting classes at the conference.
The highlight of the conference was the release of a Student Dairy 2013 by Rev Fr Cyril along with the Chairman of St George College, Shiju John. The diary contains details of all the students studying in the Bengaluru region. About 1,500 copies of the dairy was handed over to the students to distribute the same at their respective colleges.
The conference consisted of many gaming sessions. An afternoon  prayer was followed by lunch and cultural programmes.  Ms Teeja John, delivered the valedictory note, on behalf of all the particpating students. The conference concluded with an evening prayer and benediction by Fr Cyril which was followed by a photo session.
Members of the Senior Friends Group namely Reni Philip, Sathyan Parakadavil, K  C Varghese, Zaak, Kuruvila Varghese, K C Raju, were lauded for their role in conducting the conference successfully.
